Psoriasis and Down syndrome

This is really not my story but my daughters...She has psoriasis on her scalp. I has formed a ring around the crown of her head we have tried many remedy's none that have worked....She has long hair so that pretty much covers it and when it gets real bad we oil and scrap off the scales...this may last for about 3 weeks...I hate it but it doesn't see to bother her.

Wish I could find a permanent solution topical the doctor Rx's don't seem to work and Dr. will not Rx the internal meds..so we just live with it...ugg

Your daughter is so lucky to have such a caring and supportive mother in you. This story brought back a lot of memories for me - I had very severe scalp psoriasis for such a long time, and my mum used to spend every evening trying to help me; scraping the scales off and applying medication. Nothing really helped me either at that time. Something that I find helps now, and this is just me personally, is avoiding sulfates in shampoo. I also used a calcipotriol scalp solution which helped greatly at the start to calm everything down. You may have tried this already but I wanted to mention it just in case.
