Olive Oil for Psorasis?

One of the things I have been doing for about the last ten years is mentoring to those with psoriasis. Most of those are looking for treatments advise which is not allowed. We can say what treatments we have been on but if asked if it works there is always the truth that what works for one does not work for another.

People are always looking for natural treatments as well. While I try to give the best answers I can, I also follow it up with a warning. Do not always try things you may hear from others. One of the first articles I wrote was about this very advice. Some things you hear can be deadly to try. My husband had a good friend who lost his life trying to treat his psoriasis with a horse medication for example. I am hearing a growing trend to help with psoriasis.

Olive oil for psoriasis

Olive oil seems to be a growing trend in use with psoriasis. I am hearing about it more and more. Olive oil is a known anti-inflammatory. Psoriasis is known for causing inflammation in your body. I cook with it often because of this reason. Apparently, it is also safe to drink although I will be honest, I have never thought about drinking it. We have a business located in our area that sells different varieties of olive oil. The commercial on our local tv that advertises the business shows the owner drinking some of it out of a small triangle shaped bowl. Imagine my surprise when I done an internet search and saw a video of the same thing being done as far as drinking goes.

Can it help?

One of the growing trends with olive oil is to ingest it. They did say olive oil can be harsh on one's stomach. As I said, I have not tried it. If you do, then please share the info so that we all start here. At this point any words of wisdom will be nice. The times it has been mentioned to me about the olive oil they have used it like a topical and just spread it over the areas where they have active psoriasis plaques. They have told me it helps to remove the older skin and covers the plaque with new growth. Again, (not proven) there is also a list which you can look at between what Vitamin D has though the pharmacy or through the judge pt at the time this is submitted. The videos I found suggest that olive oil can do far more things when it is spread over a large area. If this is something you desire, then I do believe it is become so much more than just a typical summer drink.

I want to dispel this treatment, but I cannot. I guess time and only time will tell if I am give the go ahead and try this.
