What Are You Doing For World Psoriasis Day?

World Psoriasis Day happens every year during the last week of October. This year it will be October 29, 2021. Each year has a theme and this year’s theme is United. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love that theme.

There are so many different ways to get involved!

There are many things that along with having psoriasis, also unites us. The insane itchiness, redness, flaking, and emotional toll are just some of the things that come to mind. We are also united in finding a cure. Until that day happens we can at least celebrate World Psoriasis Day together.

The National Psoriasis Foundation

The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) will have events on October 29. The intention is to bring those who live with psoriasis together. For those of you who use Instagram, the NPF will actually have global community advocates answering any questions you may have on that day.

The organization has other events planned as well. You can go to their website to find out more about all they are doing on World Psoriasis Day.

The International Federation of Psoriasis Association

The International Federation of Psoriasis Association (IFPA) is a global organization that represents over 60 million people worldwide that live with psoriasis.

In past years you could actually go to their global map to input where you are from and what activity you were going to be doing on World Psoriasis Day. How cool is that? They will be doing the same activity this year.

Get involved at your own comfort level

Maybe you were like me and for years never knew there was such a day. I will be joining in on a few activities the NPF has planned. You do not have to do anything extravagant. You just have to do something. Even if it is reading articles on this website and commenting on them.

It could be you sharing your story for the first time about your psoriasis journey. If you are more inclined to do something more than that is fabulous also.

We're all bonded by psoriasis

Can you even imagine what 60 million people worldwide who all live with psoriasis could do to bring awareness to psoriasis when we are all united in one common cause? This could be the very thing that brings more funding toward finding that cure we all so desperately want.

It could make it so that more people start understanding that having psoriasis is nothing we asked for but acceptance is. So on this World Psoriasis Day on October 29, 2021, know that there are those of us out there trying to bring more knowledge to the world about psoriasis. Join us and let’s make this World Psoriasis Day the best there is.
