"Itchy. Beyond belief at times! It’s all I can think about and feel nowadays….. taking the new drug Sotynku for a few weeks and I’m not happy…. Acne. Everywhere! Even on my eyelids. Is this normal?! Help 🫶🏼"

  1. Oh , I really feel for you. No one needs acne to cope with on top of the psoriasis. I was able to find the following information on Sotyktu side effects: https://www.sotyktu.com/starting-sotyktu/safety-and-possible-side-effects - it seems that acne is one of the common ones 😞 Have you had a chance to discuss this with your dermatologist/nurse yet? Also, as you mentioned the itch, I wanted to share this article on tips for itch-relief: https://plaquepsoriasis.com/living/quick-tips-psoriasis-itch-relief I really hope this is helpful. Please keep us updated on how you're doing if you can. Warmly, -Catherine, Community Moderator

  2. thank you!!! Yes I knew that acne was possible, just the extent of it is so odd. My husband told me to just relax and get through the first 30 days of the medication. I did a little more research last night, most patients so relieved after 16 weeks, so I just have to hold on.

  3. , the period of waiting for a medication to kick in can be so rough, especially if you're experiencing side effects. If the severity of the acne is worrying you, I would definitely check in with your doctor about it.

You're welcome to post your question over in the Forums area of the site too, to see if anyone has any personal experiences to share with you: https://plaquepsoriasis.com/forums I'm not sure if we have any other community members on Sotyktu at the moment, but if we do they'll have more chance of seeing your post over in the forums. I really hope it works for you and that the acne subsides. Wishing you the very best! -Catherine, Community Moderator

  4. Hi , I just wanted to check in and ask how you're doing. I know it hasn't yet been close to the 16 weeks that you mention, but I'm hoping that you're body is adjusting and you're getting some relief. Please, if you're comfortable, let us know how you're doing. Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
