Nearly Clear

The plaque on my knuckles and knees got so thick I was about ready to do drugs. I was tired of bleeding every time I bumped a knuckle in the shop.

I asked my Naturopath/MD about methotrexate. He said no problem, but try this first, "Stop eating wheat." That is a tough project since wheat is in so many things. "You can't eat just a little. If you eat any gluten at all, you'll have to start over." I also had a dietician friend help me learn to read labels, "if you don't know what it is, don't eat it." I started shopping for healthy foods at a co-op, cooking recipes from "Paleo Takeout", and eating gluten-free meals from SunBasket.com (delicious and easy). I started seeing a reduction in plaque in just a couple weeks. After several months of gluten-free diet my plaque is nearly gone. I still have lichen-planus patches on my feet, but they seem to be getting smaller daily. I have a new hobby too: cooking good healthy food :-)

Bonus item: The new, fresh and organic foods diet tastes so much better than anything that ever came out of a box.

After 15 years I found relief and thought I'd share. I hope this helps others.
