My Psoriasis Story

I've had psoriasis since I was 13. It started mostly on my scalp and back, but now it's more widespread on my back, legs, stomach, scalp, and fingernails. It comes and goes basically anywhere.

My day-to-day life with psoriasis

It really hurt my confidence in the past and even sometimes now, because I feel like my body is so problemed. I also have psoriatic arthritis I think. The fatigue and pain are really hard sometimes but I've found that getting enough sleep, exercising, and eating a diet that's mostly healthy helps a bit. I also drink apple cider vinegar, and turmeric tea. I also make my own lotion with shea butter, cocoa butter, and olive oil so I know it doesn't have any chemicals in it that hurt my skin.

Learning to love my psoriasis skin

I also think it's kinda fun to make body butter so it's not a big deal, and I use goat milk soap which I think is helping a bit. Mostly the sun is what helps most. My journey with self-love has been long. I've started following people with psoriasis on Instagram and it makes me feel more normal. I also just wear what I feel like now. If someone asks I just educate them. I don't feel as embarrassed about it these days in my mid-twenties.
