Pso Awareness

I was diagnosed at an early age with psoriasis. It has been hard but I have been dealing with it. I have it against my scalp, elbows, and sometimes on my knees. I even did an undercut in my head. I parted my hair from underneath and shaved exposing the Pso. It did dry out but once the hair started growing back and psoriasis came back. So I stopped shaving my scalp and started trying meds. Now I have my scalp and my ears with little to no psoriasis.

Unwanted comments from people

I can remember while I was working one day people standing behind me saw my scalp cause I had my psoriasis showing. I just turned around and politely told them what it was, that they couldn't get it, plus I am treating as we speak. They asked me what caused it and I told them it was nothing but an autoimmune system disease. They said damn.

Then it was another time I was at the hospital seeing my doctor and a little girl asked me questions. I answered her with no problem as her mom was telling her don't be nosy. I said she wasn't bothering me one bit. I said she was curious and young. The mother said thank you for explaining. I said no problem honey.

The importance of spreading psoriasis awareness

I saw the young lady and her mom later on in the year and the little girl told me thank you for explaining to her what it was cause she had a friend with it and was afraid to be around her friend. That made my day to know I did something to help someone.
