This Will Probably Be the End

Well, I have had psoriasis for about 30 years. I am 45 now. I have had it just on my elbow for about 10 years but then it started to spread to my knees then to my hands. I was so embarrassed. The worst thing someone ever said was a nurse at a hospital about 10 years ago. I had pneumonia and when the nurse saw my psoriasis, she said to me, "Why don't you get a job and get insurance so you could get rid of that."

In an uphill battle

After that I did things I wasn't proud of, I saved up $300 and went to a hospital and paid cash for my visit to a specialist just so they could give me a prescription for a medicine that cost me $2,300 dollars. There was no way I could afford that. Well, years later I did get insurance and went to a dermatologist and it turns out I have been exposed to Hepatitis C (my dad had that and I used to use his shaving razors). Anyway, they gave me a prescription for Humira and it started to work, then about 5 months ago right after taking a dose, I caught pneumonia and I found myself battling pneumonia without an immune system and it almost cost me my life.

Struggling with psoriasis treatments

Needless to say, I pulled out of it but now my psoriasis is back with a vengeance. My dermatologist said they won't give me any more biologics because of my pneumonia so I pretty much am stuck knowing this psoriasis will be the end of me.
