Which products for scalp psoriasis work well?

Any shampoo recommendations for scalp psoriasis? What types of ingredients should one look for?

  1. I actually use baby shampoo. It doesn't necessarily treat my psoriasis, but it is gentle enough to keep me feeling comfortable up there. Plus as a dad of three, it is always around.

    1. The first thing that comes to mind for me is coal tar shampoo. Another ingredient that I personally look out for, in order to avoid it, is SLS (sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate) - it seems to really irritate my scalp psoriasis!

There's some more information on coal tar in this article: https://plaquepsoriasis.com/living/coal-tar-psoriasis/

      1. My scalp psoriasis responds well to coal tar. In the past I've used T-gel, and now I use Denorex. Both are over the counter. Other coal tar shampoos I've heard mentioned are MG217, and a number of other non-coal tar alternatives like T/Sal and Psoriasin. People on the forums are also loving on the tea tree oil shampoos!
