Has anyone found anything to help with the extreme fatigue? I'm having trouble working because of it

  1. agspriggs, I'm really sorry to hear you are experiencing fatigue. The fatigue of chronic inflammation can be pernicious. Are you sleeping well at night, or is it disturbed because of itching and pain on your skin? We do have an article on how to get better rest if these symptoms are keeping you up at night:
If you are getting enough rest but are still fatigued, it's recommended to exercise and eat healthy foods to try and up your energy levels. Other than that, treating the underlying inflammation is often the best option. Are you on any treatments for your psoriasis?
Warm wishes, and I hope you can get some relief soon.

    1. Hey -
While I do not have PsA, I do have another chronic pain condition where one of the primary symptoms is extreme fatigue. After going to a sleep specialist (I was convinced I had narcolepsy!) and ruling out a sleep disorder, I tried making some dietary changes.

Personally, I think changing your diet kind of stinks and it's hard to do. But, it was the one thing that I did that even my family and friends commented how I had more energy. I switched to a plant-based diet and really cut back on my caffeine (I was up to about 48 ounces a day!). I'm now down to about 16 oz in the morning only. I think the caffeine crashes were really messing up my body and making my fatigue symptoms even worse.

For the dietary changes, it took about 2 months before I started noticing improvements. I didn't need a nap every day. I still need at least 9 hours of sleep a day to function, but before I was needing around 11 hours. I still get tired easily, but I don't get that "worn out" feeling like I was hit by a bus just from taking a shower.

I also notice that when I go back to eating my old ways (caffeine, lots of sugar, lots of processed foods), my fatigue and pain levels immediately shoot back up!

      1. I had my extreme fatigue due to overwork and problems in the family. It's so hard because my headache is not tolerable and vomiting. I need to exhale negativity around.

        1. Oh my goodness, Latinachid, that sounds like a doozy of a headache. Have you ever been diagnosed with migraines? I'm sending gentle hugs to you, I hope you are able to have a restful weekend.

      2. I am struggling with fatigue as well. I’ve had P for a little over 3 years, I am 40. The last year and a half have been really hard and I’m struggling in all areas of my life because I’m so tired all the time. I also have like brain fog, it’s like I can’t get my crap together. I’m wondering if anyone takes actually medication specifically for the fatigue and brain fog? I have a friend that has ms and she takes adarall and she says it has helped her tremendously. Has anyone had any experience with this?
