Have You Ever Had A Heat Therapy Wax Bath?

Number one, I have never heard of this before. But, it does seem like something that could help us with pain. I'm not sure if this is an overall body thing or just parts of the body. Ouch, is the wax hot?

Has anyone ever done this before? We would love to hear from you.

  1. I had a portable sauna for about three years & when my genital Pso was external, as opposed to internal, it certainly helped suppress the pain. So what you describe, although new to me, so I’ll be researching, it should have merit for some.
As I’ve stated previously you [a Pso - PsA hero] have to try anything and everything…..

    1. Hi Diane, a happy & pain - itch free new year to you.
I commenced my Tremfya biologic treatment yesterday, I pray this one has a modicum of success.
How was your Christmas Day in terms of worship, family & good food?

    2. Hello , I had a wonderful Christmas. I'm sure somewhere I have mentioned that I have 6 grandkids, 1 great-grand and my father will be 90 in March. I try and visit everyone for a few hours and then visit friends.

Yes, I pray that Tremfa will be good to you. I am on my 3rd injection of Skyrizi and it's working pretty well. Yes, and I hope you have a happy, pain, and itch-free New Year too. We are all in this together. Diane (Team Member)

  2. , I've heard people over in the PsA community -https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/community - mention a paraffin wax hand bath. I found an article which mentions this: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/holiday-gift - it also has some great suggestions for holiday gift ideas (very fitting for this time of year). Let us know if you try the wax bath out! Warmly, -Catherine, Community Moderator

    1. Hello , Just the thought of this makes me cringe. My skin hurts enough without wax. I'm sure this procedure is not painful...................but. It is something to research. Is this something you would try?

      1. , I think I would try it. I don't know how hot it is but I imagine it's supposed to be kind of like a warming, soothing sensation. I know some people find that heat helps with their psoriatic arthritis symptoms. Do you like to use heat on yours or do you prefer cold? I like to use ice packs on my larger joints but the thought of using ice on my fingers and toes makes me cringe. So maybe the wax bath might be a good option for me! 2. Hello , I put ice packs all over my body. It eases any pain, especially the itch. How are you doing today?

      1. Hello , my husband got me the cool gel pillow inserts for Christmas. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be mad at you or not for this gift!!! LOL

      2. Haha, 😄 We need a laughing reaction here I think. Well, I hope the inserts help and I hope you got some other goodies too!! -Catherine, Community Moderator
