Psoriasis Rosacea Soolantra Ivermectin Demodex Mites

I am in my late 60’s have had psoriasis since my mid 20’s with scales on my elbows and knees and constant itching. When falling asleep I would feel and itch and hesitate before moving then feel another before I even scratched that one all my life. In the last few years I have developed a sore on my lower back and used Triamcinolone Acetonide and Fluocinonide but it would never go away. I also had started getting more and more little reds bumps all over my body I think Folliculitis. So I decide to talk to a dermatologist about it.

The dermatologist said everything was psoriasis except on my face it is Rosacea. So he prescribed me Triamcinolone Acetonide 80mg and Soolantra. My second visit was about 6 weeks later. I told him the Soolantra was working pretty well. I told him the Triamcinolone would not help the bump on my back and I had used Fluocinonide also. I also said neither one would help the bumps after they have formed they will itch intensely until they break. He said my conditions were not bad enough to use one of the new treatments that reduce your immune system and the UV light would not help much in this case either. So that was it.

About 2 months after the visit I was working outside and it was hot and my eyes were itching so bad I could not work. I had also noticed I had started to develop very bad dandruff in my eyelashes which I had never had before. I looked it up and it said Demodex mites could be related. I looked up Soolantra and saw it had Ivermectin to kill Demodex Mites. The dermatologist never told me what it was for so I had assumed it was another corticosteroid. So I got some Tee Tree Oil and started treating my eyelashes and my face and one thing led to another and now I have been investigating the affects and treatment of Demodex Mites for over a year. But when I took Ivermectin internally I broke out with a rash and bumps at places all over my body and I knew I had a problem with Demodex mites all over my body but Ivermectin did not kill most of them.

I found these three supplements that I can take internally that contain insecticides that kill mites Chrysanthemums (pyrethrum), Sage (Salvia officinalis) (thujone), and Neem (Azadirachtin) but they can cause reactions in high does and together. I found that taking 1-gram Odorless Garlic Extract (sulfur-containing amino acid named alliin) every 2 hours 12 grams/day is causing the least reaction and reducing all my symptoms. Garlic contains sulfur that kills mites and 6 grams/day is supposed to help prevent prostate cancer. All my itching all over my body has stopped and all bumps are almost completely gone. The itching in my eyes has stopped and the redness is almost gone. etc. ect.

I would see if anyone has had any experience involving Demodex mites or anything like this ?

  1. Hi , thanks so much for sharing your story with us all. It sounds like you have been through a lot with this! It's not something I have experience with (I do have psoriasis but not rosacea), but I hope anyone who does will stop by and share with you.

I'm really pleased to read that the itching and redness has almost cleared up! You must be so relieved. Has the sore on your lower back also healed? If you haven't done so already, we would encourage you to check in with your dermatologist/doctor when trying new supplements (I'm sure they'd be interested to hear your experiences too). Wishing you the best! -Catherine, Community Moderator

    1. Yes! Into the rabbit hole! I pray that all the skeptics look further into this " issue" " problem. How can Australia have so much knowledge on this problem, but the US pretends to not even know about it? I am convinced it is because they do Not know how to treat the horrible miserable life altering issue!
