Taking Skyrizi During Coronavirus Outbreak

Anyone talk to their doctor about taking Skyrizi during the Coronavirus? I’m scheduled to take my next 12 week injections on April 9th and concerned if I really want to lessen my immune system.

  1. Hi Bailey. Thanks for asking your question. Unfortunately, I don't have a specific answer to your actual question as I'm not on Skyrizi. I would suggest speaking directly to your medical team about this rather than relying on what other community members have done as they may not be following the same protocols or on the same medications as yourself.

They should be able to answer some more general questions about living with psoriasis and the coronavirus outbreak, but as I say, anything specific should be directed to your doctor. Sorry I can't be of more help. Sending you warm wishes - Jack, Community Moderator.

    1. Thank you for the link. I did speak with my doctor and she said it’s the medical consensus that it would be okay to take the Skyrizi.

      1. That's good. Do keep us posted with your journey. Sending best wishes - Jack, Community Moderator.

    2. My doctor never hesitated to give me Skyrizi during this covid outbreak. This is on top of my oncologist giving me Rituxan (also an immunosuppressant) every 60 days. Both my Dermatologist and Oncologist advise that my 2 medications would likely significantly impact the efficacy of the vaccines. Thus, I have not received a vaccine for covid as yet.

      1. It doesn't really matter imo. There are no known complications of taking skyrizi.
