Psoriasis sucks. Truly, it is such a frustrating condition to manage. So often, psoriasis stigma is such a pain! What stigmas have you experienced with psoriasis?

, I have had psoriasis for 60 years, so I could write a book on stigmas. I'm just going to go with one today. I have always had severe psoriasis which is very visible. The one question that I have been asked forever is if I'm contagious. I used to get upset over this question, but now I take the time to educate. My first response is no, I'm not contagious. Why would I be out in public if I was? Sixty years is such a long time to deal with such a chronic illness. I know you have probably heard so many different stigmas over the years and I can't imagine how I would have responded to any of them. But I'm glad you're no longer finding yourself upset at the things you've heard but rather turned it into an opportunity to educate people about psoriasis. The lack of education and awareness is really where all of these stigmas come from so informing people about it and correcting them about misinformation is a good thing and it's something we all need to do as much as we can.
