Can scalp psoriasis cause swelling at the base of your skull?

I have swelling at the base of my skull on my neck. The doctor is telling me that it is caused by my psoriasis. To me, it feels like I got bit. This guy is not my regular doctor I don’t know what to believe.

Hi deeleachman. I can’t personally speak to the psoriasis being able to cause this issue and for your protection we cannot give medical advice over the internet. I do know that prednisone (or steroids in general) can cause what is often referred to as a “buffalo hump” at the base of the skull/neck area. Your doctor should be able to give you more information about this and whether any of your medications could play a role. Wishing you the best and please keep us posted on how you are doing.
